To celebrate leaving the ‘noughties’ and entering the ‘20-teens’, we’re launching a whole set of new travel guides this year.

To celebrate leaving the ‘noughties’ and entering the ‘20-teens’, we’re launching a whole set of new travel guides this year. As well as our existing New Zealand Travel Guide and our handy FIT maps for travellers and backpackers (now in a whole new format, by the way!), we’ll be offering a whole range of specialised guides for all types of visitors.

Rest and Relax is a guide to quality accommodation and pampering products and experiences, to help visitors find out at a glance what’s on offer all over the country, where and when .Rest and Relax has a companion publication – the new Culture and Nature. The name says it all – wherever you are in New Zealand, you’ll be able to find nature experiences and activities, and cultural attractions such as museums, art galleries and Maori cultural experiences.

Backpackers will find our new North and South Island Backpacker Guides really helpful in sorting out places to stay , ways of getting around and awesome things to do, while the new City Guides will help visitors to our cities to navigate more easily through the streets. We’ll also be giving them some pointers on what to look out for in shopping, dining, activities and sightseeing – all in one handy fold-up map and guide!

So watch out for our new travel guides – they’ll be on the travel shelves and counters really soon. Keep an eye out for our orange branding!

The brand new Brown Bear Ski & Snowboard guide for 2009 is set to arrive on our desks on Friday 12 June!

This year’s guide has been jazzed up with new colours and styles throughout, making it easier to read and quicker to find what you are looking for. Once again, it is jam-packed to the rafters with information about all commercial and club ski area’s around New Zealand, as well as activities to enjoy when you’re not on the slopes, and accommodation to book that is close to the ski areas. We give you information on transport up the mountain, ski area maps and even recommend places to eat, drink and play!

Lonely Planet thinks we are “an outstanding reference for ski bunnies” and we are stoked with the final product.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our advertisers for jumping on board and helping to produce the 2009 guide.

For more information on Brown Bear Ski & Snowboard, visit www.brownbear.co.nz/ski — keep an eye out for the new website, due to go live at the end of June 2009!

As part of our 2009 New Zealand Travel Guide, we launched a new initiative to travellers called Been there. Done it. Pass it on.

As part of our 2009 New Zealand Travel Guide, we launched a new initiative to travellers called Been there. Done it. Pass it on. The idea comes from the popular gesture of BookCrossing – or leaving behind a book for someone else to discover; a common trait among travellers.

Been there. Done it. Pass it on was our way of helping our travellers pass on their experiences in an environmentally friendly manner. As a result, our advertisers are being circulated among increasing numbers of travellers who are eager to share their experiences with others.

Throughout the travel guide, readers are encouraged to jot down memorable moments, favourite places, include photographs of magical sights and provide advice for other travellers. Unlike other travel books, the New Zealand Travel Guide acts like a journal; an interactive notebook in which to jot down all your travel discoveries.

Once a reader finishes their travels, we ask them to recycle it by leaving it for another traveller to pick up (whether it’s at a hotel, a coffee shop or a bus!) and use as their new invaluable travel source.

In our business, we are all aware that word of mouth is the strongest form of advertising. Been there. Done it. Pass it on provides our advertisers with an opportunity to be talked about and have an increasing presence in the market.

In conjunction with Been there. Done it. Pass it on, our Travel Forum and Travel Blog are also advertised within the New Zealand Travel Guide, encouraging travellers to log on and leave their comments about their experiences of New Zealand or ask us any travel questions they have. The response has been highly positive and we continue to receive interest daily, proving that people really are passing it on.

This month, Cityscape unveiled its brand new look to our readers and we are delighted with the result!

This month, Cityscape unveiled its brand new look to our readers and we are delighted with the result!

With a fresh new style applied to the front cover, new easier to read layouts, all the latest event listings and up-to-the minute fashion and beauty, music, theatre, film and literature, combined with a greater splash of colour and more images throughout, our new look aims to provide our readers with a fresh new modern version of their favourite local lifestyle magazine.

Recent feedback has shown a positive response to the new and improved Cityscape, reviewed as being a more attractive and easily readable publication, both in print and online.

We’re currently working on our April issue to ensure it’s as jam-packed and visually appealing as March! Issue 53 will be available at the end of this month.

For over ten years we’ve been quietly designing websites for our TML Publishing advertisers.

For over ten years we’ve been quietly designing websites for our TML Publishing advertisers. This year we decided to create a dedicated web division within the business so we can provide a full range of web services in conjunction with our print design.

The new web division has been named TML Web Design, and to date we have had a fantastic response, with a number of client websites built and live before we even got our TML Web Design site live.

We’ve put together several web design packages for you to choose from, starting with an entry level website that is extremely affordable but still packed full of great features like content management, RSS feeds for syndication and a blog. We’ll also thoroughly proof read your entire website and get it ready for the search engines with search engine optimisation.

For those clients who are looking to take advantage of the latest web technologies, we’ve created our ‘web innovators’ package that includes social networking, search engine marketing, and full copy writing of all of your web contents.

One of the advantages of getting us to develop your website is that we understand tourism and travel marketing and speak your language. We also know how competitive tourism marketing is online, that’s why we’ve packed in a lot of extras to help you stay ahead of the crowd.

To find out more either visit www.tmlwebdesign.co.nz or call 03 366 3340 and ask to speak to one of sales consultants or web team.

We’re here to help you to a more effective results driven website!
